Modern Family Villa
New Build House, Plymouth
The Brief
Barc were appointed to design a unique contemporary home that had a positive architectural impact on the surrounding area and was reminiscent of a coastal villa. The clients wanted to feel connected to the garden and allow flexibility within the design that would work as their families needs change over time.
The Work
Barc spent a lot of time with the clients understanding and developing their brief. We designed a crisp, light filled building, simple yet self assured in form. We explored different forms of construction and materials in order to work within the tight budget but still achieve the desired quality and aesthetic. In 2016 the building was awarded an LABC Building Excellence Award for Best New Building in Plymouth.
