Sheppy’s Cider HQ
Restaurant, Bar and Retail Conversion, Somerset
The Brief
Barc were appointed to convert and refurbish the old cider production buildings to accommodate Sheppy’s expanding business, whilst retaining the character and essence of the historic buildings. The refurbished building was to incorporate an inviting new entrance, restaurant and kitchen facilities, bar area, a practical retail space and new circulation routes throughout.
The Work
Barc took a sensitive approach to the conversion of Sheppy’s Cider HQ, retaining as much historic character as possible, while breathing new life into the old buildings. The existing shop has been refurbished and expanded to include a new tasting counter and display area. There is also a new spacious and bright cafe, a large restaurant with additional mezzanine level and a lively bar connected to a unique tasting room housed in a converted old cider vat. Working closely with our client the project enhances the existing values of the well established Sheppy’s Cider brand; The history, personal values and quality of their product is evident throughout the building, whilst also giving the brand a fresh contemporary new headquarters
